Dear John,

As a reminder, Triangle Neighbors' next meeting is next Wednesday, March 11th, 2009, at the LVCC offices (867 W Buckingham Lower Level).  The meeting is 7PM to 8PM and will include an important discussion on where we want to meet after LVCC moves their offices and should we combine with our neighborhing branch, Hawthorne Neighbors.

Following the meeting on 3/11, we will hold our kick-off planning meeting for the 2009 Halloween Parade.

Finally, we are looking for volunteers to help us with the very generous donation of bricks we are receiving from Belgrad and Chicago Special Events Managment (CSEM) following this year's Flower and Garden show at Navy Pier.  We will be unloading these bricks at our park on Sunday evening, March 15th.

Don't forget to vote this Tuesday (tomorrow) for the 5th District primaries!

John
MEETING AGENDA
We'll have updates from our standing committees and community groups:
  • Fire at Scarlet - Learn the details about various fundraisers to help those who were displaced.
  • SPACE PARK - We are looking forward to a very generous donation of the bricks following the Flower & Garden show!  Hear the latest on the iron fence bids as we target opening the park this summer.  Read below on how you can help on March 15th!
  • CHICAGO CUBS - Three different concerts have been announced at Wrigley.  The Cubs have indicated they will make tickets available to Rascal Flatts and we'll be sure to send the information along.  Also, don't forget the upcoming Race to Wrigley.  Download the 2009 Wrigley Field schedule. (includes concerts and minor league games)
  • 44th WARD UPDATES - Meet the new community outreach director, Max Bever.
  • ZONING
    • Winebar/Minibar on Halsted would like to discuss expanding their sidewalk cafe.
    • Last meeting there was strong opposition to the proposed  Brompton Auto Place development at 3532 N Halsted (across from Brompton).  The drawings are posting to the LVCC web site.  We continue to work with the owners and Alderman Tunney to see if a compromise can be reached.
    • The developers for the large planned development at Clark and Addison revised their proposals in December.  To the extent there is an update, we'll pass it along.  The developer has yet to present to Triangle Neighbors although this development is 100% within Triangle.
  • HALLOWEEN PARADE - Immediately following the regular meeting, we'll have a 2009 Halloween Parade planning meeting to kick-off work on the 13th Annual Parade!
