Dear John,

As a reminder, Triangle Neighbors' next meeting is Wednesday, September 10th, at the LVCC offices (867 W Buckingham Lower Level).  The meeting is 7PM to 8PM and will include an important discussion on should local businesses be allowed to propose liquor license or zoning changes in one meeting or should Triangle require a two-meeting process to obtain support for liquor licenses or zoning variances.

Immediately following, there will be a Halloween parade planning meeting.

See you next Wednesday!
John
IN MEMORY: ERIK RASMUSSEN
In late August 2008, a friend and Triangle Neighbors' supporter, Erik Rasmussen passed away.  He was informally known as the "Mayor of Newport" and lived in Lake View for much of his life.  There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 6th at 1PM at the Second Unitarian Church, 656 W Barry.  All are welcome to attend.
MEETING AGENDA
We'll have updates from our standing committees and community groups:
  • SPACE PARK - We recently installed the underground water to the park and are planning the excavation and wall!  Just in time for the Halloween parade.
  • LVCC - LVCC recently conducted a survey and 775 responded on whether they would support a test of night games at Wrigley on Friday or Saturday night.  Learn the results.
  • CHICAGO CUBS - Two important topics everyone wants to discuss include: Neighborhood plan for play-off games and how to get neighborhood tickets for the NHL January 1st game at Wrigley.
  • HALLOWEEN PARADE - We're excited to announce this year's theme - "Rats" and hope to see everything from Ratatouille to Rugrats to the Rat Pack at the costume parade.  Immediately following the regular meeting, we will hold a parade planning meeting - - all are welcome to attend.
  • 44th WARD UPDATES - Blue Bins for Recycling were distributed to Triangle and Garage Numbers posted.
  • ZONING - A motion was made and then tabled at the last meeting to not allow businesses to get approval on liquor license requests and zoning variances in one meeting.
