Dear John,
As a reminder, the CTA 3-Track plan moves into a new phase today. Phase 1 northbound track work at Belmont and Fullerton will be completed. Northbound Red Line, Brown Line and Purple Line Express travel times will improve, particularly during the evening rush. In addition, the new Southport station will open, along with a temporary station at Diversey.

However, Southbound track work at Belmont and Fullerton (all southbound Red Line, Brown Line and Purple Line Express trains) will share one track at Belmont and Fullerton. You may experience longer travel times and more crowded trains, especially during the morning rush.

CTA will operate longer Brown Line trains, operate extra Red Line trains south of Fullerton, and provide additional service on the following bus routes during the morning rush to ease the impact on your commute: #11, #22, #134, #135, #147, #148, #156.

Special Thanks
Harry Caray's Fundraiser.  A special thanks goes out to Harry Caray's Restaurant Group for hosting us last week.  Over 200 people attended our fundraiser in which we raised nearly $4,000 for Space Park.   Dutchie Caray sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and we all wished our own Neil Mansfield a happy birthday.  We look forward to having Harry Caray's Tavern be part of our community.  Congratulations to Susan Hagan who won our door-prize drawing for 4 complimentary tickets to see the Cubs play on April 19th Cubs Neighbor Day.

New 23rd District Police Commander.  We would like to welcome Commander Kathleen Boehmer to the 23rd District Police Department! Kathleen has been transferred from the 20th district as a part of the reorganization from Supt. Jody Weiss. We look forward to meeting Commander Boehmer and working together for our community.   At the same time, Triangle Neighbors would like to thank Commander Gary Yamashiroya for the four years of service he dedicated to the 23rd district and Lakeview community. Gary's new position as Commander of the Area 3 detectives will be a great benefit to us all.

Upcoming Neighborhood Events

Deadline to File Property Tax Appeal - 3/31
Please remember that tomorrow is the deadline to file a property tax appeal for Lakeview township.   Cook County re-opened the appeal process for 2007 valuations.  Submit an appeal to the Board of Review.

Chicago Cubs Opening Day - 3/31
Triangle Neighbor residents will NOT get LV2 stickers this year.  Your 383 sticker is sufficient.  The Cubs will unveil a new statue of Ernie Banks at the corner of Clark and Addison before Monday's game.  They will be home most of the week.  Download the season schedule in PDF format.
Filming on Newport - through 4/6
Triangle Neighbor was not given any notice of 'no parking' and apologizes for the inconvenience.  But we understand Universal picture's desire to film in our landmarked zone.  (They filmed last week on Surf Street in their landmark district.)  Parking on the 800 and 900 blocks of West Newport is limited during filming.

Race to Wrigley - 4/13
The third annual 5K Race to Wrigley is Sunday, April 13th at 8AM.  The race will start outside the ballpark and finish under the Wrigley marquee.  Proceeds benefit the Chicago Cubs charities, who we understand will be making another donation to Space Park this year.

Chicago Cubs Neighborhood Day - 4/19
Join Triangle Neighbors and other LVCC Branches as the Chicago Cubs play Philadelphia on Saturday, April 19th.   We have 40 seats in the Terrace Reserve section and are almost sold out.   For those who purchased tickets, we'll distribute them the first week in April.  Interested?  Contact us.
