Dear John,
We're happy to announce permits are in hand and we're ready to begin construction THIS WEEK on Space Park (815-817 W Roscoe).  If you haven't gotten your brick, we're entering the last phase so purchase one today.

We're in the process of planning our Halloween Parade and mailing our sponsorship packages.  Help us make the event (and the park) a success!

Finally, thanks to everyone who stopped by at the recent LVCC Music Fest on Sheffield (Addison to Waveland).  LVCC raised over $20,000 for the neighborhood and an additional $5,000 for local neighborhood charities.

Neighborhood Happenings
Market Days.  Northalsted Area Merchants Association is proud to host the 27th Annual Market Days this August 9th and 10th.  The two-day event is the largest street fair in the Midwest and spans six city blocks, has 17 entrance gates and features three music stages with more than 40 musical acts performing.  Learn more >>

Hockey at Wrigley Field.  You may have heard Wrigley Field will play host to a NHL Hockey game on January 1, 2009 (New Year's Day).  While technically no additional City approval is required for a daytime event at Wrigley Field, we are working to make sure neighborhood protections are in place as they would be for any other baseball day game. Similarly, while tickets to the event will be controlled by the NHL, we have asked for tickets to be made available for purchase by the community. Because of the demand, it will likely involve some sort of drawing as it has for concerts. However, prices haven't been set and seating and rink configuration is still being finalized.
